Maxi dresses confuse me. It’s summer. It’s hot. And they are long. And cover a lot of leg. Which seems like it would just make you hotter. On the other hand, it’s summer, and we all know how I feel about shaving my legs. I think for the most part, I’m not into long dresses because they hide my legs. And I like my legs, so I prefer to show them off, but as I get older I prefer to show them off and cover them at the same time, like with tights pants, leggings or tights.

With spring blooming right around the corner our bodies are calling for a day at the spa. But every time the word “spa” comes to my mind I see dollar signs instead of relaxation. Finding a black sandal in the summer can be a real challenge…they often feel too heavy for most of the feminie and flirty fashions you opt for during those warmer months, but I just tried these on and I fell in love. I don’t EVER buy black shoes, but I’ve been purchasing a lot of nude and ivory dresses/skirts over the last few weeks and I really like the juxtaposition of a black shoe with the outfit and it gives some balance to the lighter color I’m wearing on top.

I just picked this dress up at Forever 21 for three reasons… First, it came in the prettiest sorbet colors and I couldn’t resist; Second, it’s the perfect clean palette from which to build a fabulous outfit from…and last but certainly not least, it was only $12.50 so how can you resist!!! Here’s one of my favorite celeb-reality stars walking the red carpet at the Bravo A-list awards in a Marchesa gown. I would typically shy away from a gown like this because I’d be scared that I would get totally lost in all the layers and layers of fabric, but on her teeny-tiny frame it actually hides the fact that she’s probably 20lbs underweight and makes her look healthy and radiant!

I like it, but I’m kind of on the fence about the diagonal origami-like pleats because I think they might overwhelm my small frame… What do you think? I just came across this adorable bandeau bikini from Marc by Marc Jacobs that’s way too expensive for less than one yard of spandex, but that doesn’t change the fact that I totally want it!! Top Shop has finally arrived to the states after what seemed like an eternity of delays, setbacks and mis-communications! I tried to come up with a better title, but I think that really says it all. This outfit was greatness. It was simple, flattering and comfortable. I loved it and will be wearing it again soon. I didn’t get any detail shots of shoes or the bag or anything, but honestly, the outfit is so simple, I don’t think that matters so much. I’ve had this top since Christmas, but have not really been able to wear it because if I wear a jacket over those sweet sleeves, they would get all wrinkled and squashed

Shopping online is one of my favorite past times. Browsing at your leisure, no lines, and being to find your size with digging through the racks are all pluses in my book. Learning how to shop online can be very rewarding and in my opinion better that shopping in store. Knowing the Store Policy Making purchases from stores that you frequent are particularly easy, you know your the cut of the clothing and what your running size will be.

I was born with dark, dark brown hair but decided later in life that I was much better suited as a blonde, so that means very pricey and frequent trips to Mark Garrison to see my amazing colorist, Patricia! Ok, first off, it was windy when I was taking my photos and who doesn’t love a picture of themselves with their hair and skirt gently blowing in the breeze? Stunning!~ I felt like such a super model. As my friend Rebel would say “Chest out, chin up”. I love it. Annnnnnd now we’re back to normal. But it was fun. Yesterday I wore THE most adorable purple and yellow watercolor patterns dress with yellow leather kitten heels to work. Adorable. But I didn’t get pictures because I dashed home and had 30 minutes to down a bowl of cereal and change clothes so we could go see My Bloody Valentine play at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas. I did however; manage to snap a few pictures of what I wore to the show.

So at least 4 levels of leg shaving come to mind. I’ll start with the most extreme and move towards the laziest… 1. The full on top to bottom beach wear shave. Takes forever. Hate it. Love the beach. 2. The shorts/ short skit and flip flips shave, upper thigh all the way down. Some kids even have to shave their toes. It’s not our fault we were born brunettes. 3.
