I usually just dropped the van off at a trusted mechanic for any maintenance needs. But Lisey said, “Mom, let’s change your oil together next time!” And last week, my oil change light came on.

This week, I am thankful: for another birthday with Lisey Since Lisey decided to live with me and commute to school for her last two semesters, this year has been an expected bonus year of having her around. She graduates this spring, so this is probably the last year she will have a birthday at home, and it feels like a special gift because I thought that ship had already sailed!

It’s a…middle. In case you are just joining us, I saw a $5 table on Facebook Marketplace, and hilariously, it was described as having a “scuffed top” I joked that no one in their right mind would pay $5 for it.

This week, I am thankful: that my dad brought me a grill! My beloved Weber grill is on the deck at my old house, so I’ve been without a grill the whole time I’ve lived here at my rental. I was poking around on Facebook Marketplace to see if I could find a used Weber grill, but then my dad told me he’d rescued and rehabbed a Weber grill that he’d seen left out for trash pickup.

What I Spent Sigh…I feel like I have been catching cold after cold! I had no sooner gotten over my post-skiing cold (and the sinus infection that followed), when I came down with another one. How I feel about this string of sickness It’s not flu, it’s not covid, it’s not strep (got tested and all negative). I just seem to be catching alllllll the colds I avoided last year.

What I Spent gratuitous cat photo I spent: $7 at Aldi $14 at Safeway $30 on a Hungry Harvest box annnnnnd then I dropped $121 at Sam’s Club. So, that’s $172 for me this week. What We Ate Saturday We made BBQ chicken naan pizzas, to use up the leftover smoked chicken I made on my grill. Sunday Lisey’s birthday! She wanted to get wings from a local place, so that’s what we did. ?

1. I got a CLEP exam refund After several days of burying my nose in college algebra CLEP test prep, I emailed the nursing program coordinator to ask a question and YOU GUYS!! I found out that I don’t actually need the college algebra credit after all. (!!!!!) My advisor gave me the wrong info; the new policy goes into effect for the nursing class that starts the semester after I want to start.

I’ve still been busy working on getting my money back for all my CLEP-related expenses! 1. I got a $30 testing center refund In addition to the CLEP voucher fee, I had also paid a $30 testing fee to my college. I emailed them as soon as I got the news about the test (no one was answering the phone), but then I didn’t hear anything for several days.

What I Spent I spent: $24 at Lidl $62 at Aldi $19 on a Hungry Harvest box So, $105 for me. What We Ate Saturday Some leftover pulled pork in buns. I mixed my pork with some salsa verde and added some sliced avocado on top, and that made a very good sandwich! Sunday I made baked ziti and ooh, I was so excited that the sun was still up when I finished cooking dinner!

My original AG hoodie dress I saw a light pink one on eBay for $42, but it was an XS. I thought my green dress was a medium, so I wrote off the XS right away.
