My goal has always been to live well on less while achieving our big financial goals. We are in what I call our “shovel season of life” Our oldest daughter leaves for college in the fall of 2024 and we have a big savings goal to hit before then. Frugal living is not about deprivation.

We had tried other methods in the past, but found this one suited us best since it forced us to focus on one goal at a time, rather than trying to do it all (pay off debt and contribute to savings and retirement). If married, who initiated the debt free goal? What are your financial goals now?
