To my Children and my Grandchildren, Following are some of life’s lessons – learned (sometimes poorly) by me along the road winding through my 65 years on earth. Dreaming can show you what is possible but unless you act on that dream, it is just entertainment. Read them and heed them if they make sense to you. Be inspired.

We spoiled our children and we apparently are even more intent on doing so with our grandchildren! My parents were somewhat more interactive with their grandchildren (my kids). They also took the kids (one at a time) each year and entertained them by going to tourist attractions in their area. Why are we boomers more involved?

Silver Dollar City is the mid-west’s number one visited entertainment destination, according to some sources. Food and drink and some entertainment venues are extra. That would have been $316 for one day’s entertainment. It is a family friendly theme park with craftsmen, rides, shows, restaurants and play areas.

My daughter grew up watching Sesame Street and now my grandchildren are watching. It’s lot of great entertaining, educational fun. These include skills such as regulating emotions, controlling and resisting impulses and exerting self-control. This video is just another reason to love Sesame Street (and Cookie Monster) even more!

We bought a lakefront condo 10 years ago near lakes and an area known for entertainment venues, for what I thought at the time were great reasons. Wouldn’t it be fun to have a place where our sons, their wives and our grandchildren could come together to play, visit and bond? Why we bought. Diversify our investment holdings.

My spouse and I were grateful to have him occupied and entertained, but also chagrined he seems addicted to the screen. They have installed parental controls which restrict the times of day he can use the device as well as the time he can spend playing games vs reading books on it.
