We have a 5 year old son and are in the process of adopting our 2 year old and 4 month old foster sons, making us parents of 3 boys! My husband works as an architect and I teach art part time at my son’s school. We save and try to manage our finances, but do so with an openness to give money away as well.

Our son is 29 and biological. Although my parents never specifically taught me about finances, they lived a frugal life by necessity. Our mom stayed home to raise us kids; she went to work part-time in the local school system after both my brother and I were in school. The easiest part of being frugal is everything else.
