A couple of thoughts that might explain the steadiness of my spending: The price of groceries has gone up in recent years I was definitely able to get more bang for my buck years ago as compared to now. Now, I regularly stop in at Safeway (decidedly NOT the cheapest grocery store!), Could I get it lower? Good enough is good enough.

The goal for this monthly accountability meeting is to give updates on our progress, motivate one another, and help all of us save for a cash Christmas. I''m happy to report that I was able to reduce our grocery spending in August by about $50 and I''ll put that money in our Christmas savings.
