Growing up in the fifties made me everlastingly grateful for a number of things, such as hot running water, central air conditioning, automatic dishwashers, TV remote control, the internet, personal computers (typewriters really sucked – no backspacing!), There were no garage door openers. Food/shopping. People dressed up.

How Little Could You Spend on Your Child in a Year?

I got brand new clothes , a stroller, a playpen, toys, blankets, the list goes on and on. Many of the other items I needed like cloth diapers and clothes for the baby in bigger sizes I bought from garage sales. In my children’s first few years of life, food was the biggest expense. We Love to Spend Money on Our Children.

Super Saver Holiday Ideas

I cut down a small cedar tree (which grow like weeds on our 6 acres) each year, put it in a tree stand on the porch and put white twinkle lights on it. We live on the edge of the prairie and prairie grasses grow well here. Plan ahead and hit garage sales, but especially estate sales. These make nice gifts too. Christmas in July.

Stuff – Full Circle

We especially need essential stuff, like food, water, shelter, heat, clothing, defensive and offensive protection. Cradles, cribs, play pens, changing tables, strollers, high chairs, diapers, diaper bags, car seats, baby clothes and TOYS TOYS TOYS and more TOYS. Humans need stuff. We need stuff to survive.

In it, they took apart some kid toy commercials and showed exactly how the various cool effects were created. They showed how the size of the toy was made to see bigger and the sound effects better. They interviewed kids who used the toy to see if they thought it lived up to the expectations set by the commercials. Reciprocity.
