Look for local fairs and festivals for low cost games, food and activities. They’ve also sold bottled water, homemade cookies, and crafts. Vacation Bible School (VBS). We live near a huge amusement park that is a bit pricey, but after 5pm the price reduces considerably. And it is much cooler than at mid-day.

Limiting waste is what really drives most of the habits I have that would qualify as “frugal” – reducing/eliminating food waste, returning unneeded items, pursuing refunds, checking on warranties, repairing things, etc. For me, being in the kitchen and making food for people is an act of love. Eat at grocery stores!
