Instead of buying items that you may only need for one time, you should consider borrowing items from a friend, family member, or a neighbor. You no longer have to go to garage sales and flea markets to pick up these items. Buy organic. Organic items are a lot healthier for you and for the environment.

But, we also need stuff for emotional support – stuff to remind us that we are part of a generations old family, that we have accomplished significant tasks, seen impressive places and conquered difficult situations. Pay attention to expiration dates by organizing your pantry and freezer so that the oldest food is in front. There have been countless times I have seen nearly new, decorator pieces being sold for pennies on the dollar at garage sales because the homeowner decided to re-decorate. I grew up with this, in theory and in practice.
