We never calculated his return on time and postage, but I’m pretty sure he was well into a hole on it. Contests are cheaper to enter now, all you have to do is give away some information – like your email id, and put up with some clutter in your email box (the item you just subscribed to). You need to be an extreme bargainer.

We use the eggs, harvest meat & if I can’t get out to hunt venison we’ve had friends give us meat. Now-I’m a single parent who works part-time, cares for my elder mother, homeschools & runs a farm. There’s always been garage sales/flea markets, library, state parks, fishing.

We shopped at garage sales, turned down the heat, combined errands to use less gas, didn’t buy a lot of prepared food, cooked at home and the like. Peggy : Something really cool being done today is that the stay-at-home Moms trade babysitting days so they can get some time off and give the kids a play day.
