I seriously overextended on planting and underestimated how much work my dad used to do so hopefully I’ve learned from my mistakes & will not kill myself in the garden this year! Although we no longer have them, for years we displayed our spider plants (sometimes called airplane plants as well) outside in hanging baskets in the summer, then pulled them inside to keep them over the winter. Instead of buying new ones each spring, I pull these into the garage (it is heated and has windows).

That was true for me as well, but I also think that poverty is a very relative concept. Her homes had coal furnaces with radiator heating, electricity and indoor plumbing. In their first home together, built out in the new suburbs (then it was country), Mom endured well water and an outhouse. Poverty is relative.
