If you get newspapers, use newsprint with bright colored ribbon or bows. Do you have some leftover wall paper you won’t be using? Shop garage sales and thrift stores and estate sales. I bought a roll in 2011 and have been using it for everything from Christmas wrap to kid crafts to posters to mailing packages every since.

Plastic containers from sliced lunch meat are great for leftover vegetable or casserole servings. We tear down big boxes and lay them on the garage floor in case of oil leaks. Old paper from things such as newspapers, magazines, discards from the printer and etc are used at our house to start fires, make notes and for grocery lists.

Magazines and newspapers are all available online now. And if you rent, save money and then invest the difference. Save money by preparing your own meals.
