From my mom I learned love, honesty, and kindness, and my father inspired me to work hard, and to be adaptive to any kind of situation. My dad inspired me.

Right now, making do with what we have seems more important than ever. As always, you know what your child is capable of, so you might choose to have them do the easier steps while you take on the harder work. Not to mention stores are closed and shipping on online orders is delayed!

Based on most of your 8 loads or less, this works out to a six-month supply. But for those of you doing 12, 14 and 17 loads it won’t last quite as long! But hey, six bottles of free detergent almost makes doing laundry bearable! If that doesn’t work, I try soaking overnight.

One way to do this in a two income family is to live off of one income and bank the other. Put the holiday gift of cash into your account. We don’t panic because we know we can make do with out the investment money. Put the dividends and capital gains to work buying more shares. We did that. Tax yourself.

Since Mike returned to work a few weeks ago I have been trying to de~clutter my closets and office. Frugal Times: Making~Do With Dignity which evolved into our Frugal Luxuries newsletters and book series). These were included in gift baskets for our children's teachers one Christmas.

I received this beautiful scarf from a woman my mother works with. She follows my blog and ask my mother if I could do something with the scarf. I decided to make it into a poncho by wrapping it around my shoulders and pinning it with my new vintage leaf broach I purchased on Ebay last week. Oh check out these boots.
