Years ago we went up to Seattle to see the Harry Potter Exhibition, because that was a close as it was coming to us in Portland. This year, I was lucky enough to have a birthday where I didn't have to work an event. My birthday falls inside that time, so I give it a magical twist. Last year, Yule Ball fell on my birthday.

I've done a lot of volunteer work with PDXpelliarmus, our local chapter of Fandom Forward, making sure our LGBTQ+ members of the Harry Potter community feel seen and heard and cared for. I had the opportunity to give a lot of advice for places to friends in real life, from London to Las Vegas, so I know they did fun things once there.

I've been doing more lately, but some of my favorites have been Hopscotch Portland , Arte Museum and Omega Mart in Las Vegas. Convertible bags - I'm really digging having a bag that works in multiple ways, so it looks great and is convenient for any outfit/activity. Brunch - I'm never one to turn down brunch.

I started Modish in April 2006 to give more voice and exposure to the independent craft movement. I just opened it this past November to help myself get out of the house more often (since I work from home!) and I thought of nothing better than giving myself an excuse to fuel my thrift store shopping addiction.
