As well as other “from scratch” things like my current main hobby of teaching myself how to spin yarn from our sheeps’ wool. I haven’t done the math to pencil out when we’ll break even but I have a goal to track costs and “income” in 2024 to see where we stand right now.

This can ultimately lead to substantial savings that can go toward your financial goal and keep you from being wasteful. We find that this gives our kids (and ourselves) a chance to experience new stuff without necessarily having to buy the stuff at a regular store or thrift store. With a meal plan, you will only get what you need.

What are your hobbies? For the last two years, I told anyone who would listen about us trying to make our goal of being totally debt free. If married, who initiated the debt free goal? If you have a big financial goal, think about how much you pay someone to do something that you are capable of doing yourself. I’m always amazed by the amount store tags I see on clothing and household item at thrift stores. Consider what your hobbies and interests are and look for work in those fields.
