I found pleasure in thinking about giving our children and grandchildren the opportunity to see part of the world they might not otherwise see. My spouse, on the other hand, was raised in a family that seldom traveled. Normally I am very frugal and a saver, but this trip meant more to me than the money involved. I doubt it.

It was the trip of a lifetime with our extended family (two sons, their spouses and two of our grandchildren). There are multiple lodging choices at multiple price points – and competition (which is sorely lacking in the park because the government has contracted with one company to run all lodges in all parks!).
