My Grandkids have grown up visiting the lake condo and love it. We paid $25k up front for a boat slip that never sold, had to sue to get the money back and ended up getting $9000 more than we paid out for the slip and the legal fees. We have done a Money Camp each week during high season when they are off school.

Expect to pay a bit more in a thrift store, but if it is run by a charitable organization, you can feel good about paying a few bucks more because you are helping out the cause. I usually don’t even bother looking unless they are organized to show the bindings for easier viewing. Typical garage sale prices are $.25

He thinks most vacations are a waste of money (even though he seems to enjoy and remember fondly the ones we have taken), and doesn’t see the point in consciously building memories with the kids and grandkids by traveling together. He loves sticking to routine, staying home and accomplishing work activities.

We were preparing to go out of town to the grandkids house the next morning. It was a Thursday night, the 20 th of December 2012. However, one of the presents didn’t make it via FedEx in time and I was arranging with my neighbor to pick it up and hide it on my porch in a plastic trash bag.

I still completely crumble when I enter the baby section and am guilty of spending way too much on my grandkids. They have an ever-growing selection of groceries, including natural and organic, household goods, a full-service pharmacy, cards, and a huge selection of baby necessities.

One of our son’s and his wife peeled out after touring Yellowstone, while our other son, wife and grandkids went with us to a few other destinations prior to heading home. Another time, my spouse and I took a Yellow Bus tour – sans kids or grandkids. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the same for all family units.
