I am getting better at putting leftovers in the freezer if we don’t eat them before they go bad. This Week’s Dinners: Saturday: We had my parents and grandmother over for dinner and I made Pioneer Women’s Chicken Parmigiana, garden salad, steamed broccoli, and my tasty (but cheap) garlic bread.

This Week’s Dinners: Sunday: We went to our favorite local pizza/sub shop for lunch with my parents and grandmother. We all brought home leftovers and that’s what we ate for dinner. Leftover lasagna, salad. Today is Day 14 and I’m recapping the week’s menu and my shopping trips.

I have a grandmother who would never dream of buying containers to store leftovers or food for the freezer. I use recycled jars to store baking goods (those blue Ball jars were a yard sale find), leftovers, matches, Q-tips, cotton balls, and office supplies.

Coupons Do Work

All I had to do was what my grandmother had taught me. For the clothes and shoes for my kids, I look for sales. I stocked up on several sizes for the next 2-3 years… for my daughter, last Sept, Crazy 8 had a coupon and a sale on summer clothes. I wait for the good sale. I wait for the good sale.
