Our two goats I’m planning to milk next year We also have a big garden, fruit trees, a medicinal herb garden and grow some cut flowers. We spend most of our time seeing friends and family, participating in our church activities or working on our property. I do a lot of our cooking from scratch which takes a lot of my time!

Needless to say, our relationship suffered, his health suffered and now he has a list of regrets about not being the father, husband, son, brother and friend he feels he should have been. We eventually alleviated the situation when I retrained for a high paying career and went to work full time (after those 10 years at home with the kids).

Our son is 29 and biological. When my brother and I were growing up, our parents didn’t have much discretionary income. Our mom stayed home to raise us kids; she went to work part-time in the local school system after both my brother and I were in school. He saved about 50% on his parts, too, through diligent shopping.
