It is best to travel during off seasons when airline tickets and hotel prices are at its lowest. Some websites offer discounted airline, tour and hotel bundles that can actually save some money. But both for airline and hotels, it is advisable to check the online prices with the prices in the reservation or ticketing offices.

Flights, hotels, and even car rentals can be much cheaper when you book about a year in advance. If you take advantage of a company that does price adjustments if the price of the flight or hotel rooms fall, then you don’t have to worry about a sale happening after you book, because you’ll get the rate anyway.

There was the gas, the hotel, and the restaurants to pay for. I bring a hot plate and a skillet and sauce pan with me to the hotel to reheat freezer meals that I’ve made in advance. Use hotel rewards. As much as possible, we try to stay at the same hotel chain so we can accrue rewards points.

Discount travel sites like Expedia, Orbitz, Hotels.com, and Kayak offer their customers a lot of deals on hotels, airline tickets, and even tickets to destination attractions—sometimes they will offer package deals that can seem too good to be true. We just have to know how to plan and where to look for the best deals.
