The metal on old pop-up toasters and toaster ovens can often be repurposed for small jewelry or craft projects if removed carefully with the sharp edges filed. Cover thrift store finds such as boxes and crates with dish shards for an awesome magazine rack. These are great conversation pieces and are on target for office party gifts.

Over the weekend I decided to check out Goodwill since I haven't been thrifting and some time now and was going through major withdrawals. Even before thrift shopping became the "thing" to do, I always loved going to thrift stores and seeing what great bargains I could find. Like I said, this is why I love thrifting!!

I got this dress at a thrift store a while back and it was floor length. It was eventually suggested that maybe I costume shows using rented pieces, or thrifted. Nathan got me that sweatshirt at a thrift store and I am pretty sure that it is a child’s size, but I love the shrunken fit. I went with a thrifted red leather pencil skirt, black tights and boots and a satiny top. I also went with almost all DIY jewelry because I think the jewlery I make for myself really showcases my personal style. I'm not sure the detail come through in the shots, but the pattern on that top is actually a print of sequins.
