Think high school senior portraits or family photos for Christmas cards. I shop at thrift stores frequently and I am always amazed at how much I see with store tags still on the product. I pulled out clothes that I don’t wear and I’ll donate to the thrift store. I reorganized years worth of photos that were in boxes. I don’t print too many photos anymore, so many of these photos were pre-2000, before the age of digital. I reorganized my bedroom closet and dresser.

My favorite thrift store has a section dedicated to seasonal items. The number and variety of Halloween items in this thrift store surprised me. Adults are spending money on more than just costumes for their kids and treats for the neighborhood tricksters too. They didn’t even go with the kids to do the trick or treating.

If you are in more of a hurry, find a thrift store instead. Expect to pay a bit more in a thrift store, but if it is run by a charitable organization, you can feel good about paying a few bucks more because you are helping out the cause. Treasures which the grown kids don’t want or need! Toys for the grand-kids.
