I have made a pact with myself that if I don’t already own something that I need, I will either: make do with what I have, find said item at a thrift store, borrow, or forget about it.

I volunteer at my kids’ school at lunch time and other events. It’s not a big splurge, but I take my kids at home out to McDonald’s for lunch once a week. (I’ve I’ve been doing it for 28 years now?) We have a big family, but we live in a small house – we use bunk beds and make do.
