If something is useful and I might personally use it later, it gets saved and used again. Below is a list of things I (or hubby) have personally saved and reused. Empty coffee cans are great for holding paint or turpentine or bacon grease. We save boxes to ship items. Paint rollers are used multiple times at our house.

When you can reuse or re-purpose an item, you are not only saving it from the landfills, but you are also saving the expense and energy which would have been expended when you recycle. If you want to get fancy, draw, paint or sew buttons on it for eyes. You all know you can make puppets for kids from an old sock.

If you sew, take off the buttons, zippers, lace, netting or whatever to use later. Tip # 2 Recycle/reuse costumes. Re-purpose the used costume.
