In April, we saved quite a bit of money by comparison shopping, and choosing thrift first. April’s Thrift Store Finds. My next stop was my favorite thrift store, Community Aid. They looked UNWORN, and after the 50% sale, the price was just $2.50. The big hitters this month saved us about $500. Total Savings: $300.

Some people were very angry that these parents didn’t spend money on their kids. Some argued that the parents had nice clothes and accessories, so they must be spending money on themselves.

Have a Virtual Yard Sale. I love yard sales, but it’s getting a little cold in the northeast to be hosting one outside. I shop at thrift stores frequently and I am always amazed at how much I see with store tags still on the product. But that store credit is much better than sending it to the thrift store as a donation.

Ours was smaller (about 700 square feet) – 2 bedrooms (my brother and I shared one and my parents the other), a kitchen and a living room, No basement or garage.
