Recycling is great for the environment and we should all be doing it (in spite of my title), but reusing is even better. When you can reuse or re-purpose an item, you are not only saving it from the landfills, but you are also saving the expense and energy which would have been expended when you recycle. We do put up decorations (ones I buy at garage sales or thrift stores and reuse each year). Tip # 2 Recycle/reuse costumes. Bring in your slightly used, but in good shape costume and pick one from those others brought in – as a swap. Search the attic, the backs of the closets, the garage and see what inspiration presents.

Here are some ways we recycled our moving waste: Creative Ways to Use the Excess Supply. So far we’ve used the paper for the kids’ drawing and painting. We also plan to use some of it at Christmas for wrapping paper. I’ll let the kids’ color or draw on it, and we’ll wrap presents in it.

Since I already had some sandrete (a kind of cement I use to fill the lines in my brick sidewalk), I decided to wait on getting a kit and do a bit more research. Petroleum jelly to slather on the inside of the mold, so you can get the concrete out and reuse the mold. Something to use to write messages on the wet cement.
