Our analysis found that the average home insurance cost is less than $1,000 in some states, including Hawaii, Delaware and Vermont. Vermont: $815 a year, or about $68 a month, on average. Homeowners insurance rates are also going up because it has gotten more expensive to repair and rebuild houses after they’re damaged.
