Making crackers, eating through the freezer, and generally being odd
So I’ve been challenging myself to eat through my pantry and freezer. I’m I’m waiting to go shopping until my next garden fresh box arrives at the community centre. My My best money-saving and waste-reducing shopping strategy is to wait until my garden fresh box arrives, and then plan my meals and pick out my items at the grocery store based on what food is in the box. I’ve I’ve also been wanting to eat through the freezer/pantry because I don’t want any food to get feezer-burnt or stale, and as a single person who buys and cooks in bulk, it’s easy to let food go to waste if you don’t consistently eat up what you’ve got.

I have steadily been reducing our grocery budget since October . One of the biggest ways I have been able to save money on groceries is by planning our meals. Ten Strategies for Easier Meal Planning: Pick a day that works best for you to be your meal planning day. I used to hover around $500 a month for our family of 4.

Grocery Shopping Strategies
Grocery shopping can be truly overwhelming. Before you even think about buying groceries, make sure you have an organized storage system. chest freezer is also a wise investment, as you can buy meat and frozen goods when they’re on sale and store them for later.

Grocery Shopping and Menu Plan | Cash Only, Week 3
I have a little over $116 left in my envelope to cover this coming week’s shopping trip, so that is awesome. I’d say the odds of me spending all of that are pretty low, especially since I have a big chuck roast in the freezer, a pound of crab meat (we will probably get two dinners out of that splurg-ey puchase), and plenty of cereal (Chex were on an awesome sale last week …I got 6 boxes for less than $6).

Rainbow Shopping List 8/30 – 9/5/09
In fact, I will try to get my personal shopping list posted for you late Tuesday night or early Wednesday (truth be known I usually do it minutes before walking out the door late on Wednesday night, which is why I don’t routinely publish it). also desperately need to go grocery shopping since I didn’t go last week due to my craziest-ever schedule; that means I went shopping once in August and we lived out of the pantry stockpile and off produce and milk from Aldi.
I love weeks like this at Rainbow! There are lots of great deals after the value of
