Since we're talking about frugal recipes and cooking from your stockpile this month, I thought I'd share what's in my "pantry." As people are first starting to coupon and to stockpile, I often get questions about what to stockpile. The rule of thumb is to stockpile the things that your family will actually use! Otherwise, you end up

Menu Planning Monday ~ My meal plan for the week of 3/8
you're new to meal planning or trying to cut your grocery budget, I'll be sharing a "frugal" or "from the stockpile" recipe several days this month (at least that's my goal!). To help me with this task, I'll be having guest posts (if you're interested in sharing a guest post/frugal recipe, e-mail me!) from some of my favorite frugal bloggers, too!
For I'm starting my menu with Monday this week. We were out of town for a family event this weekend, so I didn't cook at home last night (I'm also working on getting the Walgreens match-ups done since I didn't have

Homemade Maple Syrup
The following is a guest post from Frugal Girls .
However, I do like that this recipe uses real sugar as opposed to High Fructose Corn Syrup.
This recipe makes a light tasting syrup, that is delicious served warm over pancakes, french toast, waffles, etc.
Since syrup doesn’t seem to last too long around here, I like to triple this recipe and store In my quest to cut costs and eat healthier, about one year ago I started making my own homemade maple syrup!
Now don’t get me wrong…I’m not saying that maple syrup is healthy!

Fast & Frugal Recipe: Vegetable & Rice Teriyaki Bowl
The ingredients are few and the recipe flexible; the basic sauce only requires soy sauce, water & sugar, but can also be enhanced with ginger and rice wine if desired. Our recipe only includes vegetables, but pieces grilled or simply cooked meat can also be added.

A Month of Frugal Recipes Day 1: Creamy Corn Chowder
I promised a month's worth of recipes from the stockpile and for your budget and this is my first recipe! The recipe was Creamy Corn Chowder and I found it on Our Best Bites . It ends up being way cheaper than bacon and I have used it in many different recipes. All of these ingredients were things that I already had "on hand" I actually stockpiled Hormel bacon pieces (the ones that come in a jar) awhile ago because I had coupons that tripled and got an amazing deal on them plus they have a long shelf life. I almost always have a bag of potatoes on hand, too.
