The last time we wrote numbers-driven financial goals was 2019. <<— Once we paid off our non-mortgage debts in 2019, we started saving some of the debt snowball money for college savings. After our mortgage, grocery spending is our next largest expense. I spent about $870/month on groceries.

Groceries is the easiest budget category TO GET OUT of control and the easiest budget category TO control. To reign your grocery spending in, you must plan all of your meals. Use up all of those odd ingredients.

Pre-coronavirus, we didn’t think twice about shaking a stranger’s hand, using the ATM keypad, or going to the grocery store without donning a hazmat suit. Our only spending going forward will be for essentials, such as our mortgage, utilities, groceries, our Medi-Share premium , and fuel for the cars. More family time!
