Rail trails are old railway lines that have been converted to multi-use paths designed for pedestrian, bicycle, skating, equestrian, and/or light motorized traffic. Visit an amusement park in the dark. Hit the amusement parks in the late afternoon and save considerably on the admission fee. Out & About.

They drove the 200 mile trip on holidays and birthdays to celebrate with us. They also took the kids (one at a time) each year and entertained them by going to tourist attractions in their area. They provided Christmas and birthday toys and on occasion provided direct financial aid. Why are we boomers more involved?

With so many things that we parents have to teach our children, from using the potty to being a good and decent citizen, it’s no wonder that financial lessons sometimes get pushed aside in favor of more immediate needs in raising our kids. No, we can’t get season passes to the amusement park. Encourage them to save.

We were so poor that we re-used coffee grounds to make more coffee! In today’s dollars, the cost cutting measures we took throughout our marriage allowed us to NOT spend more than a half million dollars. 91,404 Entertainment. We used free TV for most of our married life (we do now splurge on satellite TV!).
