We had a coal stove at home, but my brother and my shared bedroom was just a few feet from the stove. Of course, later on I did get some really nice real dolls from my St Louis Aunts. I ended up freeze drying them in the garage! In the winter, it was fricken cold in there! Poverty aids the imagination. it was A-OK with me.
