The only French word I retained was “pamplemousse” (grapefruit), as I thought it was a hysterical word which I would try to slip into my conversations with friends. If I had embraced it, I may be more able to converse in the language now. Asking for a beer when you really want the bathroom is problematic and confusing.

Where I ultimately landed in “this is problem drinking” was not how much he drank or how often or “are his eyes glassy today?” For me the bottom line was need. He kept drinking after repeated “what’s going on?”

Even if you join a beer league soccer team, at least you are getting out and moving every once in awhile, and you will be less likely to skip it because you won’t want to let your teammates down. I find that having a conversation about fitness with my active friends and family members inspires me to get off the couch.

Once you have found a good group, you can participate in the conversations that they have about the topic, and you can also make your own posts where you ask a question or start a discussion. If you keep your drinks to a minimum (or if you stick to cheap beer), this is also a fairly inexpensive hobby.

My husband and I usually grab a beer from the Germany pavilion at Epcot and find a bench in the shade to relax. I love making eye contact with them and telling them look like a “princess” Their face just lights up, and sometimes it opens up a whole conversation, which I’m all too happy to have ?.

Also, where others limit their menu to just the basic, no-frills options, BurgerFi has built a menu with specialty items like Kobe beef hot dogs, gourmet toppings, delectable desserts, craft beer & wine, and an overall focus on a healthier menu selection. After a brief conversation we started reading the overhead menu choices.
