For the clothes and shoes for my kids, I look for sales. I shop at the end of the season. I stocked up on several sizes for the next 2-3 years… for my daughter, last Sept, Crazy 8 had a coupon and a sale on summer clothes. I wait for the good sale. I wait for the good sale. My total bill was $27.57.

We also don’t want to come home to a credit card bill. We plan on participating in our neighborhood''s yard sale next month to raise our vacation funds. We told our daughters that they could set up a lemonade stand at the yard sale to earn their spending money. Also, by planning ahead I can take advantage of sales.

At the same time my credit card debt was slowly creeping upward too thanks to my minimal income. It was getting to the point that as soon as I got paid, covered my monthly bills and made the required debt repayments my bank account was back to zero again. And this is just on a mortgage, not including any credit card or student loan debt. Grocery shopping wisely – We shop at affordable stores, shop the ads/sales, and menu plan. He still physically pays all the bills and keeps track of any information with those companies. I rarely use coupons.
