Buy the product ingredients in bulk (which may cost more initially, but will pay off once the products are made), purchase the containers needed (jars, plastic tubs, etc…), and make your own homemade goods. For 40 loads of homemade detergent, you’ll pay $0.05 per load or $2 per BATCH of homemade detergent.

January will be one giant nightmare when the credit card bills start rolling in. And a friend of mine sells her homemade Christmas candy this time of year. I shop at thrift stores frequently and I am always amazed at how much I see with store tags still on the product. Hopefully, that’s your goal too. Babysit or House Sit.

While I like to shop at thrift stores, I have a hard time finding TALL length jeans for my 5’10 frame and I was in need of new jeans. I made homemade applesauce when the orchard was having an end of season sale. I made homemade chicken stock from bones that I keep in the freezer until I have enough to make a big pot of stock.

In April, we saved quite a bit of money by comparison shopping, and choosing thrift first. i can’t wait to see if there is a noticeable difference in our water and electric bills. April’s Thrift Store Finds. My next stop was my favorite thrift store, Community Aid. Total Savings: $300.

Are you looking for more ways to trim your grocery bill? There is an initial investment, but I have seen similiar containers at yard sales or thrift stores and at Bed Bath and Beyond where they regularly offer 20% coupons. Are you trying to run a more 'green' household? I have 4 different sizes. Use plastic store bags for trash bags.
