Monday I’d gotten a loaf of cinnamon bread out of the freezer on New Year’s Eve day, so I used some of that on Monday to make French toast, which we ate with whipped cream and berries. What I Spent I did get a Hungry Harvest box and I made a small trip to Aldi, but I haven’t done an honest-to-goodness grocery shopping trip since we got back from Hawaii! Sunday I found a few slices of bread in the freezer, so Zoe had some French toast plus the rest of the bacon, and I had some whole-wheat blueberry pancakes.

I made a use-it-up dinner I haven’t done a proper grocery shop since I got home from Hawaii, so I have been scrounging a bit. The other night, I found a few slices of bread in the freezer, and two slices of bacon, so Zoe had French toast and bacon. , but at least I got the ball rolling.

Personally, I purchase a lot of store brand products and it is a strategy that you should consider too as you’re trying to slash your grocery shopping. I buy store brand versions of many things from dairy, flour and sugar to pretzels, bread, canned tomatoes, and aluminum foil, because of price.
