I should add: obviously if you buy bulk foods from a packaging-free/low-packaging store, then it makes sense to put that food into containers. I know at Whole Foods, you used to dispense bulk food into a thin plastic bag, which was clearly not meant for long-term storage. Labeled glass containers make a lot of sense in such cases.

With this, you satisfy two needs – need for recreation or break and the need to augment your income. Minimize “1-0”. Itemize your expenditures.

My hobbies range from reading to painting, pen-and-ink drawing, cooking/baking, and writing. I also want to have a sense of detachment from owning things, which is hard since I was raised by very acquisitive parents (my mom shopped for a hobby), so I am still unlearning those habits. Try things! Probably marrying my husband. ?

She’s welcome to live at home for the next few years if she’d like so she can save the bulk of her salary. He’s incredibly handy and does woodworking as a hobby. This way she can take advantage of compound interest and build a solid reserve, which should give her a nice boost starting out. Apply it toward debt.

This was hubby’s hobby, but I thought maybe we could sell the birds (quail is good eating!). To be successful, I think you need access to free or really cheap bulk sale items. I’m not sure I have the greatest answer to that, but here are some things we tried that did NOT work out for us – at all.
