Make a dollar store fallscape. Buy a colorful red, orange, or gold runner at your local dollar store as well as a few faux pumpkins or gourds. It is so cheap, usually $1 for a big bag at your local dollar store. Then, apply coat of inexpensive black, orange, or purple spray paint.

I have a rule now that if I want to buy a book, I need to donate one. I was intensely irritated to have to buy a skirt and a head covering to visit a relative’s church (all the women there dress conservatively and veil their heads, and I didn’t want to be disrespectful). If we want it, let’s buy it.

Head to your local craft store and buy a bottle of glow in the dark paint. While you enjoy the music serve inexpensive drinks and snacks such as fruit juice and popcorn. Find some fun tunes and grab some glow sticks from your dollar store or Amazon.Then, get decked out in them and dance your tails off in the dusk!

Instead, about two-three weeks prior, sit down and create a menu of items you would like to buy, and then execute your shopping trip 5-7 days prior. Give each person an inexpensive ingredient or side item they can be in charge of so some of the financial burden comes off of you. Focus on inexpensive fillers.

Sure you could carve some, or buy fake plastic ones, but have you ever thought about creating pumpkins out of pillowcases before? Not only is it easy (which I love), but it is so inexpensive as well. You can peruse your local thrift stores for one as we did, or find them for just a few dollars at your local retail store.

And you don’t have to buy a new ugly sweater, you could either visit your favorite thrift store or decorate a sweater you already own.
