I thrifted items for my dad because he loves old books and coins. Finally, I found some clothing for my husband and son that was still new with the tag at the thrift store that they loved! That is when I decided to thrift all of my gifts this year for Christmas. And so, I started.

Years ago, Mom introduced me to the idea of going to garage sales. People sell the darnedest things at their garage sales. Garage sales take time, you have to hit quite a few before you find the item you want or need. If you are in more of a hurry, find a thrift store instead. I love a bargain. My best finds.

Just look at the many people scouring garage sales in the summer. Likewise, thrift stores are always full of people. Blender Fifteen years ago, I bought a blender at a garage sale for $3. Toaster Oven I bought a toaster oven at a garage sale for $2. Instead, I settled on a garage sale stand mixer I found for $10.

Much of the time, baby clothes aren’t used harshly — especially newborn and early infant clothing. Garage sales, estate sales, and moving sales are all great places to look for used furniture. I pulled out clothes that I don’t wear and I’ll donate to the thrift store. My kids had a fun time looking at the hair styles and clothing choices of their parents through the years. The shoe shelf in our garage. I reorganized my bedroom closet and dresser. My family has a shoe addiction.

Use paper drop cloth to wrap. If you are like me, you have old material or clothing that is no longer loved or needed. Shop garage sales and thrift stores and estate sales. Three years ago, I bought a bag of new holiday ribbons that would have cost me upwards of $50 if I had purchased them from a retail store.
