I’ve been an architect, day-care teacher to toddlers, and library clerk, but am currently a SAHM to a 14yo son and 9yo daughter. What’s your best frugal win? Another big win would be taking advantage of our great public library system. The same goes for things like clothes. Enjoying some outdoor time.

Buying used clothes can be a great way to save money, especially if you have rapidly growing children. It can get very expensive if you have to buy new clothes every six months for a child who is growing rapidly. You can defray some of your clothing costs by shopping for deals at used clothing stores or thrift stores.

I always give my son some incentive to spend the afternoon trying on his clothes! Mix old and new - Once you have stock of what you have, buy clothes to match. Back to school clothes shopping can be very expensive even if you only have one child. You can also take advantage of tax free holidays, and you can set up clothing exchange clubs with your friends. For this reason, thrift stores are a great place to find gently used children’s clothing. Many of these stores are crowded.

You can get labels that are dishwasher safe or laundry safe, so you can stick them on school supplies, toys, cups, pacifiers, clothing and more.
