I planted a small garden this year: 2 tomato plants, 1 cucumber, 1 pepper plant that sadly didn’t make it, and 1 butternut squash. My Frugal Shenanigans!

Our financial goals are still important to us and we want to hit them regardless of the rising prices. Homemade Basil and Walnut Pesto: I made my second batch of homemade pesto from my two garden basil plants. In the grand scheme of college funding, $200 is a drop in the bucket, but I always appreciate free money.

Last summer, I hired someone to completely dismantle and remove my largest box garden and ground garden, and plant grass seed for me at a very reasonable price, especially since it took him just a few hours and it would have taken me an entire weekend. I kept my small box garden which is large enough for just 2 tomato plants and a few herbs.
