Basically there are two reasons to compost. The second is supplementary to the first–you use the compost as fertilizer. Although there are numerous aids available to assist you in composting, it all comes down to the fundamentals; make a pile of biodegradable matter and wait until it breaks down. I didn't compost the salad, because it had feta cheese mixed in) We certainly eat leftovers, but by the end of last week, we were (1) lazy and (2) lazy. Cooked chicken and veggies can be frozen and used in soups or casseroles at a later date. Imagine having a month where you didn't spend any money on food. Let us know in the comments.

I tossed the whole coconut in the compost. If you have compost, be sure to throw the husk into it. It was kinda grey. The only way to tell if a coconut is ripe enough is to taste the water and the meat. If it is slightly sweet and tasty, then use it, if it tastes oily and bitter then toss it. That's it.
