Children are constantly being bombarded by advertising for the newest and latest ‘thing’ and are being swept along by the aggressive consumerism of our times. Lead by example: children pay close attention to the actions of the adults in their lives, so it is important that we live what we teach.

Consumerism Commentary asks us if we are better off than our parents ? Sure they set a good example but I don’t remember having any sit down talks about the subject. A few years ago my credit took a bit of a hit. I wasn’t managing my money very well. We found a system that worked for both of us.

For example, I have a lot of fun making our own cleaning and beauty products. Consumerism Commentary talks about financial motivation for getting in shape. That’s a tough one. I do agree that time is money and we need to find the balance between the two. However, if you enjoy the activities you do to save money, then keep it up.
