I do use cash mainly for transactions of $50 or less as I don’t like to carry around a lot of loot (except when on vacation)! We took a day trip to a small town in our area several years ago with our grown son and daughter-in-law. Conversely, if you are shelling out bills to buy something, it seems hard than sliding that plastic.

She not only is trained and experienced at all the scraping, flossing, poking and prodding, but also is a person who can connect with patients, even when the conversation is necessarily one sided (after all, she does have her hands in your mouth). Here I was, leaning against his $20,000 truck, while my $15,000 car is sitting in the drive way of our $150,000 house, and through all this our 8 month old son was sleeping in his $400 crib, and I didn’t have $20 bucks of my own money to get gas. No new clothes, no vacation, no extra anything. We stopped buying stuff.

I vividly remember him saving his change all year and having us kids roll it for vacation. We got $20 each for doing it, and that was our vacation spending money. We already pay for Netflix, and my son-in-law lets us use his Apple TV account, so I’ll report back with an update on this post after we’ve tried it for a couple of months!
