I have been doing my grocery shopping at a different GIANT store and I’m finding that they always have a lot of marked-down meat. I use the pesto as a sauce for hot pasta or pasta salad, pizza topping, and spread it over grilled chicken or fish. We use the bacon fat in place of butter or oil for eggs and sauteed dishes.

…enter 2023 We have not one, but two teenage high school daughters. We want to assist our daughters with their college expenses. We have a number that we want to save for each daughter. We used the snowball method to pay off our non-mortgage debts. My basement is still a mess. How will we make these goals?

I cooked it in my Instant Pot (look for the directions on Monday 10/23/17), and used the meat for Tuesday night’s dinner. I put the rest in the freezer for later use in soups, enchiladas, and/or quesadillas. My husband and I had leftovers, one daughter had breakfast-for-dinner, and the other daughter had a can of soup.

My daughter has been begging me for several months to try Blue Apron subscription meal kit service. I’m the chief grocery shopper for my family, so why would I need a subscription service–it seemed so frivolous to me. We’ll use it for camping. My daughter is very eager to learn to cook. Prepping dinner.

Over the weekend, we hosted 12 other children to celebrate my daughter’s 8th birthday. So my daughter and I brainstormed. I used black writing gel icing for the ghost faces. My daughter saw this spider cake at Giant while she was grocery shopping with me. 14 kids altogether. She wanted a dance party.

My daughter does competitive cheerleading and that itself is $3K a year (not including travel). I shop at the end of the season.
