In my free time I enjoy canning and preserving food (well, I enjoy the results of it, ha!), How did you get interested in saving money? As a teenager, I saved quite a bit of the money I earned babysitting and working in a dining hall. I would probably add it to our savings account for house projects.

Saving Everyday

My niece goes to Goodwill and buys what I can only describe as bags of junk, and she makes a full-time income selling it on eBay. If I wanted to save money quickly, I could probably get that down to about $300 by focusing on cheap meals. Remember that money saved is money earned! I actually do this a few times a year.

My husband, Alan, and I live in a beautiful area of the northeast that’s full of mountains, lakes, and rivers and is popular with both tourists and second homeowners. We live on the side of a small mountain in a quiet, rural town, but we’re less than 20 miles from a city of about 25,000 people and its shopping and dining opportunities.
