Every year, I have a yard sale. It usually coincides with our neighborhood's big sale and I make out quite nicely with the profits. While I love the instant cash that you can get from a yard sale, this year a tax deduction will have to do. Unfortunately not everything in your home is considered a tax deduction if donated.

In 2017 we updated our kitchen with new paint, flooring, and appliances. Found money could be from anywhere, such as rebates, refunds, online sales, or even the ground. Plasma donation: $350 –I took a break from donating plasma. In fact, my late donation was in October 2021. I transferred $20.95

Years ago, Mom introduced me to the idea of going to garage sales. People sell the darnedest things at their garage sales. Garage sales take time, you have to hit quite a few before you find the item you want or need. I look for the neighborhood sales, which are usually either in spring or fall. My best finds.

We do put up decorations (ones I buy at garage sales or thrift stores and reuse each year). Buy one then sell, donate or exchange it. Mom’s black cape, some makeup and a piece of cardboard cut and painted black to make bats ears can make someone into Dracula. Tip # 2 Recycle/reuse costumes. Don’t buy, make.

We rented the scaffolding for $50 from Menards so I could finish this massive painting project. We bought our house as a short sale in 2008. I’d send some to my nieces to help with their college expenses and would donate half to our local food pantry. I also smiled when I saw you painting high up in the foyer.

Recently I tried something completely new to me and earned $1000 in less than 3 months by donating plasma–see the details in #14. I love a pedicure too, but if you’re trying to save money, try to paint your piggies yourself. Bring in Extra Money: 14 – Donate Plasma. 15 – Have a yard sale.

I took at least three trunks full of “stuff” to Goodwill, I had a garage sale, and I sold things online. If you buy your child a new doll, make sure that you donate or sell another one of her toys or you’ll end up with a toy room filled with toys your children don’t play with. Boy, did I declutter.
