Even in things like trips and vacations, entertainment, education, and our cherished hobbies. Some fun hobbies are camping, hiking, and fishing. First off, we can get our gear for our hobbies at a discount (yeah, this is shopping). And it''s usually slightly better stuff than what we find at Walmart or Target.

For me, going to sales is not just a means to find things I need at rock bottom prices, it is also entertainment. Neighborhood sales are my favorite, and they are prolific in spring and fall. Here is a short list of some of my favorite finds at garage, estate and thrift store sales. That is what this is.

This was hubby’s hobby, but I thought maybe we could sell the birds (quail is good eating!). I’ve always loved going to sales – garage sales, estate sales, auctions, moving sales – no matter. To be successful, I think you need access to free or really cheap bulk sale items.

I keep a roll of heavy paper (which I buy at Home Depot for about $11 for a roll about 2 inches thick and 2 feet wide) to use in wrapping packages, protecting floors during home projects, making garage sale signs and etc. Last, I searched through the games I had at home to find player tokens, play money and dice.

Have you ever shopped at neighborhood garage sales? You will find the most amazing collections of nearly new home decorating materials at them – beautiful lined panel drapes; lovely dining room furniture and display cases; wall art, wing back chairs, clocks and more – all for a pittance.
