We do put up decorations (ones I buy at garage sales or thrift stores and reuse each year). Tip # 2 Recycle/reuse costumes. Like me, buy them used and then reuse them each year. Free Kids Crafts has some ideas. Put your unwanted Halloween decorations out for reuse by donating them. Tip # 4 on decorations.

Find ways to reuse old costumes. Visit your local thrift shop. Even if your local thrift shop does not have a costume section, you can still find some fun and funky secondhand clothing to use for costumes. Try to find a seller who offers free shipping. This is a great way to get the costumes you need for free!

Thrift stores are also a great place to shop. Reuse your own decorations. Now that we are retired, we find free Christmas concerts and orchestra performances to attend. There are typically many free holiday events from which to choose. They kind of look like the ones for sale at Curious Country Creations.

It was a long road and we were finally non-mortgage debt FREE!! I feel like I made a lot of trips to the thrift store to donate our stuff, but my house will tell you otherwise. That book has changed my outlook on reusing, recycling, making do, and rethinking one use products. We hugged and high fived and I sobbed for hours.
