Instead of buying new ones each spring, I pull these into the garage (it is heated and has windows). Patio furniture can last longer if you take care to prep it for winter weather. Examine metal furniture for rust and sand/paint with a rust restorer type spray paint to keep it in pristine condition. Use free plants to landscape.

We tear down big boxes and lay them on the garage floor in case of oil leaks. Old sheets and torn blankets are used to protect furniture as it is moved. Brown grocery bag s (when we can get them) are used for wrapping boxes for mailing and artwork by children as well as lining the kitchen trash can. We save boxes to ship items.
